In order to establish a basis for the stucco, we install metal lath and water-resistant paper over building framing using our expertise in the lath and paper process. The paper layer prevents water penetration and serves as a moisture barrier. In order to make a continuous waterproof covering, we usually utilize double building paper that is overlapped. To guarantee correct overlap, the paper is stapled to the studs. After that, metal lath is installed to strengthen the wall structure and create a mechanical key for the stucco to adhere to. Whether it's new construction, re-stucco, or remodeling, we install moisture barriers to prevent water from soaking through the freshly laid stucco. The lath is secured, and the patch is water-resistant. We guarantee high-quality installation from beginning to end when lathing new construction. In this home renovation, new windows were installed and window patching was repaired. Before applying the stucco finish, we applied cement and ensured water-proofing with metal lath and building paper. Renovation stucco finish is Sand Finish 20/30.

Re-Stucco Services

Re-Stuccoing, the process of applying new layer of stucco over an existing stucco surface.

Re-Stucco over existing stucco projects. Preparation includes installing a weather-resistive barrier and lath, and patching new windows with cement. A skin coat is applied prior to stucco color using a polymer-modified cementitious base coat.

Stucco Texture Finishes

We specialize in Santa Barbara smooth finish, Traditional Lace Finish, Cat Face, Sand Finish 16/20, and Sand Finish 20/30. The size of the sand particles distinguishes 16/20 sand finish stucco from 20/30 sand finish stucco. The sand in 16/20 is more coarse, whereas the sand in 20/30 is finer, smoother, and more elegant.

Santa Barbara Smooth Finish is a type of stucco coating with an elegant and smooth texture. This texture gives the stucco a luxurious look. The Santa Barbara smooth finish is applied in two coats over brown coat along with fiber glass mesh on new construction building, or over polybond on re stucco buildings. The finish coat is applied in two-coats.

In addition to homes, you can add a sophisticated exterior and interior design by applying smooth stucco to other outside and interior spaces.

Additionally, stucco with a smooth texture can be used for exterior decorative elements like fireplaces, foam moldings, and cinder blocks.

Sand Finish 16/20

Like all smooth stucco finishes, the Santa Barbara finish may show cracks from normal building movement and settling. However, fiber mesh is embedded in base coats (like stucco or plaster) to strengthen the material and minimize cracking caused by shrinkage, stress, or temperature changes. Although naturally smooth finish is bond to show some cracking we ensure proper preparation.
